It's impressive how many diverse and breathtaking instruments have been built in the past. Researching, documenting, and replicating these historical builders and their guitars is a great honor and brings with it an enormous source of information.
When building a replica, the same techniques, glues, and finishes as the original instrument are primarily used. Building a contemporary instrument that respects its tradition without reinventing the past.
